Randolph Hostel Room 313

It’s par with what you would expect from a hostile. Positive: It was what i expected. We just need a place to sleep after the McHenry Festival. Negative: It a hostile so the expectations were not high. The staff is responsive to calls and texts. Pillows and bedding could be more comfortable. Bathroom on my floor ran out of toilet paper by the morning from all the rooms sharing.

Uncomfortable Positive: The bar next door was nice. Negative: The rooms were DIRTY. There was a giant stain on the pillow, a bug in the sheets, crumbs and dirt EVERYWHERE. Not to mention the seat was stained up with who knows what. I reached out to the hotel about the state of the bathrooms with absolutely no soap or towels and nothing was fixed despite them telling us they would address it.

Positive: Bit of a youth hostel. Nice bar and a super band when I was there!!

Million dollar view… ZERO amenities or host contact. Thumbs down! Positive: Location is gorgeous. Room has a view of the lake across the street. Negative: -Zero contact with host. Tried to connect the first 3 days via phone, text and email with no response. Slept with a broken door lock for 3 days. ZERO assistance. Finally found someone on day 3 to assist. - Due to age of building (historical)… the room has a 25% incline. Feels like vertigo when you walk. -live music and voices from downstairs Brewery heard via the AC vent all day until closing. -the most “sticky” floor. Had to buy floor mats - ZERO AMENITIES; No wastebasket, microwave, wall hooks or dresser space. Clothes on floor. -Be prepare to bring your own everything!!!

Positive: Beautiful location, right on the lake. The room was spotless and well appointed. The communication from the hotel was excellent.
